To help achieve this, we have introduced a major ongoing, transformational programme into all of our manufacturing facilities to substantially improve our processes. It combines a comprehensive set of philosophies, rules, guidelines, tools and techniques to optimise these processes to deliver:
- Reduced average lead times
- Improved throughput
- Reduced inventory and reduced space to improve our product flow
This world-renowned methodology ensures that we are challenging waste, performing tasks consistently and identically and also minimizing non-value adding activities. Performance is constantly monitored and issues resolved as they occur.

The introduction of a supermarket-type ‘pull’ system where production is triggered to ‘fill the shelves’
Just-in-time delivery and return of materials and finished items to the assembly lines that will help streamline the manufacturing process
More flexibility will be built into Plastics and Surface Mount Technology supply using reduced die change time techniques for rapid changeover
The creation of flexible assembly lines based around waste elimination, in-built quality, improved flow and visual management
Reducing line set-up times and the introduction of minimum order quantities that will build flexibility into the process and lower the cycle inventory
And for those products made to a customer order, build-to-order methods will also be created.
